Ladybower Reservoir full

With all the rain and snow in the recent weeks the triple reservoirs of Ladybower, Derwent and Howden are full to overflowing. The highest reservoir , Howden, when full overflows its dam and pours into Derwent reservoir which in turn overflows into Ladybower which has two “plug holes”to take the overflowing water under its dam and into the River Derwent.

The area is popular amongst walkers, joggers and cyclists alike, with many fantastic mountain biking routes taking you up onto the top of the hills surrounding the reservoirs with the potential to go onto Langsett over Cut Gate or into the valleys of Hope and Edale with their comprehensive network of bridleways.
