Hassop Station and Bakewell loop
Another beautiful sunny but cold day here in the Peak District National Park.
The big decision, to go Mountain biking, walking or for a gentle family bicycle ride.
We decided on a walk starting from Hassop Station Cafe, where we had a lovely beef brisket ciabatta roll for lunch, which set us up nicely for the walk to come. Then it was off east, along the Monsal Trail to the picturesque town of Bakewell, where of course we had to have a Bakewell pudding for our pudding. After a lovely amble through the unique selection of shops we walked alongside the River Wye to Ashford in the Water and then cross country, passing Ashford Hall, Thornbridge Hall and Churchdale Hall, how the other half live!
A total of about six and a half miles and three and a half hours of fresh air.
