Mountain Biking in the Hope Valley

This week saw a group six of us take to our mountain bikes and head off from Hope and up onto Win Hill. According to Strava we covered 9.3 miles with an elevation gain of 1492 feet, all this in temperatures no greater than freezing and all with lights in the dark. The route we took found us immediately climbing up about 600 feet in very muddy, slippery and wet conditions followed by a very slippery track down to the edge of Ladybower Reservoir and then up one of the toughest climbs in the area to meet the Roman Road where with big grins on our faces we descended rapidly down an amazing rock, muddy and by now, icy bridleway back to Hope. All we have to do now is defrost, clean and re oil our mountain bikes ready for our next ride in the amazing High Peaks
